Obituary

Lois Hope (Smith) Cusick, 91, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John Cusick with whom she shared 30 years of marriage until his passing in 1980.

She was born on August 30, 1929 in Revere, MA, and was a daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Ingram Smith.

Lois lived in Revere until the age of 10, when her family moved to Billerica, where she graduated from Billerica High School. Later, Lois settled in Chelmsford where she has been a resident for the last 55 years. She was an avid and talented gardener, and also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Lois was devoted to her family and home. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lois leaves her children; Brian Cusick and his wife Susan of Leominster, and Jane E. Spellenberg of Chelmsford, her grandchildren; Amy Cusick and her significant other Dale Thomas, Colleen Cusick, Tim Cusick and his significant other Liza Webster, Molly Cusick, Bridget Koryak and her husband Misha, Samantha Ellinwood and her husband Scott, and John Spellenberg and his partner Adam Musto, and her great-grandchildren; Alexander, Avery, Maggie, and Camden.

Sadly, she is predeceased by her brothers Wilmer (Bill) Smith and Edward Smith.

Graveside services will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970 or northeastanimalshelter.org.
