Obituary for Zofia Glowacka (Jędrzejczyk)

Zofia Glowacka, age 96, a resident of Acton, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Zdzisław Głowacki with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2008.

Zofia was born on January 2, 1927, in Czestochowa, Poland and was the daughter of the late Józef and Anna (Baranowska) Jędrzejczyk. She lived in Pruszków, Poland until her husband’s death. She worked for over 30 years in an Architecture Design office in Warsaw. After her retirement, Zofia’s life was devoted to the family, especially her two beloved grandchildren, Veronika and Damian, whom she helped to raise.

In 2009, Zofia moved to the United States to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She had an opportunity to fulfil her dreams of traveling, always ready to see new places.

Zofia was full of energy, strength and had an independent spirit. She read books and was interested in politics. She loved people and was totally dedicated to her family. She was a devout Catholic, attending mass until her final illness. She traveled to Poland until the age of 95. She had a great life force and defied many health crises before. She was a great organizer. Zofia was generous and big-hearted, and always ready to help.

Zofia leaves her daughter Teresa Ancukiewicz and her husband Marek Ancukiewicz of Acton, her grandchildren Veronika and her husband Arash, and Damian and his wife Karen; her two great-granddaughters Sara and Daria, and her brother Stefan Jędrzejczyk who lives in Poland.

Her Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 16 at 5:00 pm at Holy Trinity Parish, 340 High St., Lowell. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Holy Trinity Polish Parish in Lowell.
