Obituary for William P Mahoney
William P. Mahoney peacefully entered his heavenly home on Tuesday January 15th 2019, having been blessed with 84 years of life and 60 years of marriage to his loving wife Ann.
Born on December 17th 1934, Bill grew up in Billerica, MA, graduated from Howe High School (1952) and Lowell Technological Institute (1957). He and Ann were married on August 23rd, 1958. He worked for Raytheon his entire career ultimately retiring as a Program Manager for HAWK missile programs. Through the years he and Ann lovingly raised their five children in Chelmsford, MA before retiring to Nashua, NH. He loved his family, painting, Boston sports and Notre Dame football.
He is survived by his wife Ann (O’Brien) Mahoney, sons Michael (Andrea) Mahoney of Hudson, NH, Thomas (Terry) Mahoney of Cantonment, FL, daughters Marianne Cahill of Farmington, NH , Carolyn (Carl) McKenzie of Newfields, NH, and Susan (Bill) Despres of Brookline, NH, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family has arranged for visitation at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home at 24 Worthen Street Chelmsford, MA. Calling hours are Friday January 18th 2019 from 11am to 1pm.
A family service and interment at St. Patrick’s cemetery in Lowell, MA will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the St Joseph’s Hospital Cancer Center of Nashua, NH to support the wonderful, caring professionals whom Bill grew to know and love.
