Obituary for William Arthur "Bill" Clark
William Arthur “Bill” Clark, age 78, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ruth (Flynn) Clark with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
He was born on April 24, 1942 was the son of the late Norman Waugh and Dorothy Evelyn (Evans) Clark.
Recruited by IBM from Northeastern University, Bill worked in the computer industry most of his adult life, only foraying into the world of motorcycles as a partner in a motorcycle business for four years. Bill had many interests, which he shared with his brothers and friends, including trains, planes, automobiles, motorcycles, and tractors. He was an active member of the Bristol S Gauge, the CGLR model train clubs, the Morgan and the Buick automobile clubs, he built and flew model airplanes, he managed web sites for several of these clubs as well as his own Belmont High School graduating class of 1959 and soon took on his wife’s BHS 1961 graduating class.
In addition to his wife, Bill leaves his children: Kathleen Clark of Chelmsford MA, Hilary and Scott Stevens of Pelham, NH, Megan and Dan Sullivan of Pelham NH, and he was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Heather Cristine Clark, who passed away in 1994.
Bill leaves his grandchildren: Tara Jean (Conti ) Montanez of Billerica, Heather Conti-Clark of Rye NH, Mikayla and Nathan Conti-Clark of Chelmsford MA. Sarah and Kate Stevens of Pelham NH, and Emma and Abigail Sullivan of Pelham NH.
Bill also leaves his brothers and sisters: Richard Evans and the late Shirley Louise Clark of Phoenix AZ, Norman Waugh and Dorothy Elinor (Torgersen) Clark of Holliston MA, Eileen Jennifer (Flynn) and Tony Maccaro of East Bridgewater MA, Constance Evelyn ( Flynn) and Richard Raynor of Burlington MA, and Phyllis Suzanne (Flynn) and Mark R. Gleason of Chelmsford MA.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Robert and Brenda (Duffield) Clark of Santee CA, Richard and Winona (Peters) Clark of Glendale AZ, Carolyn (Clark) and Timothy Tierney of Franklin MA, Russell Clark of Monmouth ME, Mark and Adrienne (Dorn) Gleason of Phoenix MD, the late Dawn (Raynor) and her husband Robie Rideout of Pelham NH, Virginia (Clark) and Joseph Watkins, of Douglas MA, Marjory (Clark) and Brad Hayes of Louisville CO, the late Keri-Lyn (Gleason) and Keith Farley of Fitchburg MA, Richard and Dot (Chittalath) Raynor of Methuen MA, Anthony Maccaro of East Bridgewater MA, and Farrah (Maccaro) and John Saltmarsh of East Bridgewater MA,
