Obituary for Walter H "Bud" Crissey

NORTH CHELMSFORD - Walter H. "Bud" Crissey, 89, died on Wednesday, November 14th, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. He was the beloved husband of Marcia E. (Willey) Crissey, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Bud was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 21, 1929, a son of the late Anna (Petrisko) and Walter Crissey. After graduating from high school, he proudly went on to serve his country as a military policeman and honor guard for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service, Bud received degrees from Rutgers and Northeastern and worked multiple positions in the defense industry. He also taught business and economics at a local junior college.

Bud was an avid fisherman and longtime supporter of Trout Unlimited. He loved sharing and talking through environmental concerns. Some of his other passions included: gardening, pottery and cooking.

In addition to his loving wife, Marcia, Bud is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Walter Crissey of Indiana, Karen Crissey of NH, Lisa Crissey of MA, Stephen Goff of Chelmsford, Stewart Goff of Belmont, Andrew Goff of Iowa and Melissa Regan and her husband John Kaminski of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Surles, Erik Regan, Elliott Regan, Christopher Regan, Bradley Goff, Hayley Denker and Duncan Goff and his great grandchildren, Kiara Surles, Henry Denker and Emily Denker.

Bud was predeceased by his brother William Crissey.

The family of Walter "Bud" Crissey wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Blaire House of Tewksbury for their outstanding care and compassion.

Bud's memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10 A.M. in the Central Congregational Church, 1 Worthen Street. Chelmsford. A collation will follow the memorial service. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford on a future date. There will be no visiting hours.
