Obituary for Virginia R. Hall (Crooker)

Virginia Ruth (Crooker) Hall, age 87, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Hall who died April 20, 2008.

Born in Dracut on April 21, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Chisholm) Crooker, and was educated in the Methuen school system. She was a graduate McIntosh Business School in Lawrence and Framingham State College.

Prior to managing medical offices at Emerson Hospital, Ginnie taught kindergarten at Fox Kindergarten and Nursery School.

She was a member of the Central Congregational Church in Chelmsford where she served as Deacon Emeritus. Over the years, she served on many committees.

Ginnie’s Christian faith and her church sustained her through her life.

She loved the outdoors, especially the coast of Maine and Cape Cod. For many years Cape Cod was her second home. She loved animals and over the years she had many beloved kitties, dogs and even fish. She loved butterflies, cardinals and daisies, but most of all people.

Ginnie’s love was her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Desharnais of Chelmsford, her husband Michael, and their children, Andrew Desharnais and his wife Morgan, Lauren Bianchi and her husband Robert, Michelle Daly and her husband Brian, and Jessica Williams and her husband Geoff; Linda Bennett, her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH, and their children, Travis Bennett, and Hope Bennett; and Lois Shoemaker, her husband Phil of Scotia, NY, and their children, Samantha German and her husband Aaron, Libby Turco, and Natalie Shoemaker and her husband Peter; her great grandchildren, Emma Williams, Molly Williams, Genevieve Williams, Cameron Williams, Teagan Daly, Anya Daly and Jack German. Ginnie also leaves her beloved sister, Patricia Lezon of Davie, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister, June Chaisson and her brother, Richard Chabot.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 30th from 4pm to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Funeral Service for Ginnie will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Central Congregational Church, 1 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Central Congregational Church at cccchelmsford.org.
