Tyler Alexander Patron, of Chelmsford, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Children's Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family. He was 29 years old.

He was born in Chelmsford on October 5, 1989 and is a cherished son of Matthew and Cheri (Hookway) Patron of Chelmsford.

Tyler was raised in Chelmsford and was a graduate of CHS with the Class of 2008. After attending Boston University he earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2012. During his college years, Tyler was a proud Pi Kappa Alpha brother. Hockey was Tyler's passion. He played all his life and was an avid New York Islanders fan. Tyler enjoyed being active playing volleyball, tennis, golf, and lacrosse. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach. Most recently, he was employed as a research scientist for Novartis where he dedicated his work life to the cure of Cystic Fibrosis as part of the Respiratory Disease Group. Not only did Tyler conduct research, he was also a participant in studies so that others may benefit from the research in the future.

Most importantly, Tyler cherished time spent with his family, cousins, and lifelong friends.

In addition to being the loving son to his parents, Tyler is the cherished brother of Zachary Patron, beloved grandson of Howard Patron, Susan Grossman, and Anne Stafford, dear nephew of Kerrin and Glenn Frank, Bill Hookway, Kevin and Carol Hookway, and Stephanie and John Wallace, and cousin of Jordan, Jenna, and Cameron Frank, Shannon Hookway, Jackson Hookway, Bethany, Sam and Nick Arsenault, Mitchell Hookway, and Max, Eli, and Luci-Rose Wallace.

Sadly, Tyler is predeceased by his grandfather Chip Hookway, and his uncle Doug Hookway.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Tyler's memory to

Cheri, Matt, & Zach,
We are extremely saddened to learn of Tyler's passing. Bill & I extend heartfelt condolences, as we know you must be overwhelmed with grief, and struggling to find courage towards acceptance. We remember Tyler as a very bright, witty kid, who enjoyed playing hockey with Kyle and all the Chelmsford boys. We are so impressed by Tyler's valiant efforts towards working for a cure for CF. Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Valerie & Bill Busby

Matt, Cheri and Zach - I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Tyler was an amazing young man who accomplished so much in such a short time. When he was about ten or eleven I remember him telling me that when he grew up he was going to cure CF so that other children wouldn't have to live with it. From what I've seen he made such advanced strides with his goal. in my eyes he will always be that smart, caring and fun loving kid cracking jokes in the back of my SUV on the way to hockey practices and games!! He truly loved his family and you guys gave him such a good life. Love, Shannon King
