Obituary for Susan Desmarais
Susan (Hannus) Desmarais, age 69, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at her home.
She was born on September 6, 1950, in Lowell, MA, and was a daughter of the late Martha and Leonard Fleming, and Helen (Stinson) Fleming.
Susan was raised in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1969. From there she went on to Tewksbury Hospital Nursing School to become a licensed LPN and worked for the Tewksbury State Hospital until 1983. Soon after her nursing career, she went into property management and in 1995 started her own business, SD Lead Inspections. She ran her company until her retirement in 2010. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed reading, vacationing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Susan leaves her sons; Eric and Justin Hannus of Lowell, her grandchildren; Mikayla, Rayana, and Tucker Hannus, sisters Stephanie (David) DeBay of Dunstable and Andrea (Mike) Isabelle of Tewksbury, several nieces and nephews, and her long time friends Flora and Ed.
Graveside services will be held privately.
