Stephen E. Hood, 77, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances W. (Horan) Hood with whom he shared 31 years of marriage until her passing in 1996.
Stephen was born on February 3, 1943 in Newton, MA, and was a son of the late Eustace B. and Alice N. (Hennessey) Hood.
Stephen was a retired teacher from the Winchester Public Schools after 34 years of dedication. He spent many years as the seasonal manager of the Winchester Boat Club. His greatest joy was spending time with his family at gatherings and family vacations at the Cape. He was beyond proud of his grandchildren and loved cheering them on at sporting events, activities, and award ceremonies.
Stephen leaves his children; Kimberly Hood of Chelmsford, Kristin Imperillo and her husband Edward of Chelmsford, Stephen Hood and his wife Maureen of Nashua, Carolyn LaRosa and her husband Charles of Chelmsford, grandchildren Nicholas, Katherine, Alexander, Steven, Zachary, Dominic, Sydney and many nieces and nephews.
Sadly, he is predeceased by his brothers David and Peter Hood.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.
