Obituary for RoseMarie Soghigian (Andrade)

CHELMSFORD - RoseMarie (Andrade) Soghigian, RN, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the age of 72.

She was born in Lowell on August 18, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Antonio G. and Mary M. (Pestana) Andrade. RoseMarie was a loving wife of 44 years to Karekin (KS) Soghigian, mother to Kara L. and grandmother to Enzo A. Soghigian of Salem, NH. Despite being chronically ill for the past 7 years she drew great strength, comfort, and joy from her grandson Enzo.

A graduate of the Chelmsford High School class of 1964, RoseMarie earned her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Lowell. She worked in the ICU and Recovery Room at St. Joseph’s hospital until 1982 when she left nursing to become a Household Management Executive.

An active member of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church of North Andover, RoseMarie served as President and Secretary of the Ladies Guild as well as a member of the church Building Committee. She initiated a fundraising and donation program for House of Hope in Lowell which was supported by the St. Gregory community.

RoseMarie was a talented crafter, wonderful cook, and enjoyed traveling with her husband, late brother in law Martin Simonian and sister in law Mary (Astghik) Simonian.

In addition to her loving husband, daughter, grandson, and sister in law RoseMarie will be deeply missed by family: George and Claudia Simonian, Martin Simonian, Jack Simonian, Avedis Soghigian of IL, Adrian and Christine Soghigian of SC, cousins Maria Mendes Amancio, Ricardo Mendes Amancio, and Flavia Mendes Perez of Brazil, and her husband’s extended family in France.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 9 am to 11 am at St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church, 158 Main St., NORTH ANDOVER. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11 am followed by interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD. Memorial donations in RoseMarie's name may be made to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church.
