Obituary for Roland Paul Bergeron

Roland P. Bergeron, 80, a longtime Westford resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Emerson Hospital, Concord, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra S. (Phillips) Bergeron with whom he shared almost 55 years of marriage.

He was born in Lowell on May 7, 1942 and was a son of the late Henri S. and Bernadette (Touzin) Bergeron.

Roland was raised and educated in Lowell and then went to work at Symphonics, a company that made record players. He briefly worked at a shoe shop in Lowell before landing at Saxon Manufacturing in Salem, NH where was a fabricator of Formica countertops. Here, Roland worked for over thirty years until his retirement in 2012. He was an active outdoorsman, enjoying in his spare time traveling with Sandra, skiing, and snowmobiling, as well as ice fishing and bow hunting. Most of all, Roland cherished the time he spent with Sandra and his extended family at gatherings. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Roland leaves his siblings, Rita St. Onge of Pelham, NH, Janet Laussier and her husband Robert of Westford, and his twin Roger Bergeron and his wife Joan of Chelmsford; and his Godchildren, Suzanne Dupras of Lowell, and Jeffrey Carreau of Tewksbury. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his beloved cat Mitts.

Sadly, he is predeceased by his siblings, Gerard Bergeron and his wife Blanche, Raymond Bergeron and his wife Estelle, Simone Laussier and her husband George, Annette Shaughnessy and her husband Arthur, and his brother-in-law Henry St. Onge.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 11 am at Fairview Cemetery, Main St./Tadmuck Rd., Westford. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CEMETERY. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854 or lowellhumanesociety.org.
