Obituary for Robert W. Ratte

Robert W. Ratte, 80, of Chelmsford, a former longtime resident of Billerica, passed away peacefully at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill on Saturday, June 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Priscilla (Baro) Ratte.

He was born on September 25, 1940 and was the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Mitchell) Ratte. Robert was a graduate of Lowell Vocational School class of 1958. After high school, Robert proudly served his country enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed as a firefighter for the town of Billerica for over 25 years and was a self-employed master electrician. Along with his wife Priscilla, he owned and operated Baro's Ceramic supply in Chelmsford. He loved the Patriots and the Red Sox. Most of all he was proud of his grandsons, who wrestled on the National level achieving All American status as well as both being 2x Massachusetts State Wrestling Champions, representing Chelmsford High School and Doughboys Wrestling of Lowell.

Robert is survived by his children; Robert Ratte of Billerica and Dr. Deborah Ratte-Goodall and her husband David Goodall of Chelmsford, his grandsons; David Robert Goodall, a graduate of Western New England University who is now serving in the Army National Guard and Evan Goodall, a sophomore at Ithaca, his brothers; William Ratte and his wife Doris and Frederick Ratte, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Ronald Ratte.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday June 11th from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Funeral services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Robert’s memory to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
