Robert J. Dupuis, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of New England in Woburn. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Dulac) Dupuis with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
He was born on October 15, 1935 in Lynn, MA and was a son of the late Edgar A. and Elizabeth (Grelish) Dupuis.
Robert was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and attended Boston University. He played defense for the Boston University Terriers Hockey Team, 1957-1958. In his sophomore year, Robert was awarded the All-East and co-MVP honors. His junior year, he was again awarded All-East. As co-captain of his senior class, Robert lead the team to the Beanpot Championship and he was then awarded the All-American Team Honors. Robert very proudly played on the1960 Olympic team in Squaw Valley, CA. He was an expert in the game of Pool. Robert and Mary loved golf and spent most days on the Links. His children remember him always having a hockey game or golf on the family TV. He loved sports, but he most especially cherished summers the family spent at their vacation home in Vermont.
In addition to his loving wife, Robert leaves his children; Renee Miglionico and her husband Anthony of Milton, NH, Denise Osterfield and her husband Timothy of Townsend, MA and Michele Hudson and Thom Pare of Chelmsford, MA. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately.
