Robert D. DiFazio, 85, a resident of Moultonborough, NH, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday April, 26, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Creech) DiFazio with whom he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 26th.
He was born in Cambridge, Masssachusetts on December 15, 1933, and was the son of the late Daniel C. and Dorothy H. (Carboine) DiFazio.
He was raised and educated in Arlington, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Arlington High School. After 3 years of service in the U.S. Army, he then went on to graduate from Northeastern University.
While living in Chelmsford, Robert was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Parish, where he served as an Eucharistic Minister. He was also a little league manager and a Pop Warner coach. He served as a past President of the Jaycees of Chelmsford and was a former member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed fishing and boating, but most of all cherished his time spent with his family.
Prior to his retirement in Florida, Robert worked for 12 years as a Plant Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation, having worked in several locations including Puerto Rico. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 18 years working for Raytheon Corporation. In the summer months, Robert worked part time as a docent at the Castle in the Clouds at Lake Winnipesaukee.
In addition to loving wife Patrica, Robert is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Deborah Sgro of Hooksett, NH and his son Robert DiFazio Jr. of Manchester, NH; his two grandchildren, Jason Sgro of Manchester, NH and Major Joseph Sgro Jr. (USMC) and his wife Amanda stationed in Fredericksburg, VA; his two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Victoria; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Burg.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 4-7 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1st at 11 o'clock at St. Mary’s Church, 25 North Rd., CHELMSFORD. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
