Robert H. Ackerman, age 85, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Granite VNA, Concord, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene A. (Donovan) Ackerman who passed away in 1986.

He was born in New Bedford, MA on October 17, 1935 and was a son of the late Henry and Emma (Hall) Ackerman.

Robert worked for over 25 years for Honeywell in Acton as a chemical technician. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 6 years as a Petty Officer, Third Class. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Robert leaves his children; Robert H. Ackerman, Jr. and his wife Corinne of North Carolina, and Virginia Duhamel and her husband Bruce of Weare, NH, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Sadly, he is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Phillips and his brother Henry Ackerman.

Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Dementia Society of America ( https://www.dementiasociety.org/). Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.
