Raymond A. Goodwin, Sr., 89, a resident of Chelmsford since 1966, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa E. (Courtney) Goodwin who died on August 28, 2008.

He was born in Charlestown on Christmas Day,1928 and was a son of the late Ralph and Inez Goodwin.
Mr. Goodwin was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Goodwin had worked as a surveyor for the City of San Diego. Earlier in his career he worked for Omni Spectra in Merrimack, NH.

Mr. Goodwin is survived by nine of his ten children, Raymond A. Goodwin Jr. of Chelmsford, Francis G. Goodwin and his wife, Kajsa Norgren of Clifton Park, NY, John D. Goodwin and his wife, Nancy of Brentwood, NH, Ralph T. Goodwin and his wife, Randi of Port Orchard, WA, Bruce L. Goodwin and his wife, Susan of Spring Lake, NC, Andrew P. Goodwin of Escondido, CA, Kenneth J. Goodwin and his wife, Patti of North Chelmsford, Mary T. Faucher and her husband, George of Escondido, CA, and Janis M. Goodwin of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Goodwin was predeceased by his son, Stephen V. Goodwin and daughter-in-law, Penny Goodwin.

Visiting hours will be held at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 9-11 AM. His Funeral Mass will follow at 12 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment will be held privately in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Goodwin's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
