Obituary for Raymond Bartlet Fraser

Raymond Bartlet Fraser, 81, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Jean (Murray) Fraser with whom he shared 60 years of marriage (as of August 2020).

He was born on April 16, 1939 in Cambridge, MA and was a son of the late Alan and Gwendolyn (Marshall) Fraser and Stepson of Donald White.

Raymond proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. He worked at Firestone Tire followed by a long career at Raytheon as manager of publications from 1967 until his retirement in 1999. Raymond was an avid sports fan having been a longtime season ticket holder for the Boston Celtics. He loved to watch football and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling, but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Raymond leaves his daughter Andrea Freitas and her husband John of Lowell, his grandson Lane E. Freitas, his sister Donna White Simard and her husband Kenneth of Arundel, ME, his brother Donald White and his wife Patricia of Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Sadly he is predeceased by his son Lane Fraser, his granddaughter Taylor Gwendolyn Fraser, and his siblings David Fraser and Mildred Fraser Lestage.

Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Due to gathering limitations, funeral services and interment will be held privately.
