Obituary for Quy Kim Thi Lam
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Quy Kim Lam. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones at Lawrence General Hospital on April 26th, 2023.
Born to Joseph Long Van Lam and Maria Hon Thi Phan on June 10th, 1953 in Bui Chu Nam Dinh, Vietnam. She is survived by her devoted husband, Khue Van Nguyen, her four kids, and nine grandchildren.
Mom and dad fled their homeland in 1979, with their two kids, Duy and Giao, while seven months pregnant with Thoai. They miraculously survived an arduous journey by boat to Indonesia and against all odds, arrived in America in 1980 where they were blessed to be able to start a new life. Their fourth child, Amy, was born in 1982.
Being the eldest of twelve, mom enjoyed large family gatherings and creating special memories. For mom, family always came first. Her strength and perseverance were an inspiration to us all. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending mass and was actively involved in her prayer group. Mom will be deeply missed by all, but we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace with her beloved mother, father, and brother in heaven.
Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 from 4PM to 8PM at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St, Chelmsford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, May 4th at St. Patrick’s Parish, 282 Suffolk St, Lowell, followed by burial services at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Rd, Tewksbury.
