Obituary for Peter Kenneth Robdau

Peter Kenneth Robdau, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday April 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann M. “Chickie” (Cherubino) Robdau with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

He was born in Boston, on November 22, 1957, and was the son of the late Marie (Lespasio) Robdau. Peter was raised in and around the City of Boston. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1975 and received his Bachelors Degree from Boston State College in 1980.

After graduating from the Metropolitan Police Academy in 1983 he began his career in law enforcement and was part of the SWAT team. While with the Massachusetts State Police, he worked in station A-4 in Medford and finished his service at Troop-F at Logan Airport. He retired from the Massachusetts State Police after 37 years of service.

Peter was the ultimate family man. He loved traveling to anywhere and everywhere to watch his kids play sports, compete in baton competitions or dance recitals. He never missed an opportunity on these occasions for a trunk tailgate. He loved traveling around the world with his wife, Chickie. The life of the party wherever he went, he loved nothing more than getting together with his friends and family and celebrating. In his later years, his biggest joy was being “Papa.” He adored caring for his grandchildren and watching them grow. He was an avid reader and his family’s own personal comedian.

In addition to his loving wife, Peter leaves his children, Peter Kenneth Robdau, Jr. and his wife, Lindsay of Chelmsford and Holly Anne (Robdau) West and her husband, Joshua of Townsend. He is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Robdau of Roslindale, Veronica Robdau and her husband Tom of Beaufort, SC, Edward Robdau and his wife Roberta of Boynton Beach, FL, Paul Robdau and his wife Kara of Sanbornton, NH and Cheryl Robdau and her husband Rod of Mystic, CT as well as many nieces and nephews and several lifelong friends. He also leaves behind five beautiful grandchildren, Cameron, Henry, Morgan, Louise and Logan.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4 – 7 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11 am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment to follow in Heart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford. Memorial donations may be made in Peter’s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org.
