Obituary for Patricia Ellen O'Connor (Sturtevant)

Patricia E. (Sturtevant) O’Connor, 65, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, June 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, MA.

She was born on January 23, 1955, in Lowell, the daughter of Albert W. Sturtevant Jr. and Gladys E. (LeBoeuf) Sturtevant. Patricia “Pat” currently lived in Lowell where she was also raised and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She later resided in Chelmsford where she raised her daughters with her former husband Timothy
O’Connor Jr., of Punta Gorda, FL.

Besides her children, grandson, and extended family, her main passions included sewing, art, photography, and all things crafty. She was a skilled artist who explored several mediums over the years and also ran her own business. In her earlier years, she was never without a needle and thread as she held several positions as a seamstress and made clothing for her daughters. She combined her love of stitching into computer design and learned the trade of embroidery digitizing where she created her own logo templates and worked as a contractor for several firms. More recently she dove into the world of paper and leather design crafting, even constructing her own handcrafted greeting cards and jewelry. She was always creating something and had a keen eye for detail and design. All of her work was joyful, funny, inspirational, and beautiful. Most of all she loved to laugh, spending her downtime watching comedies, listening to music, and cracking jokes. She would love to laugh with you and always sought to lighten the mood even when the world could be grim. She was sweet, beautiful, and above all full of kindness.

Patricia leaves her daughters and their significant others; Tara O’Connor and Patrick Gilbride Jr., of Ashburnham, Katie O’Connor and Charles LeMaire of San Diego, CA, and her beloved grandson Levon LeMaire of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her sister Peggy McLeod and her husband Richard of Lowell, MA, and her brother Ronald Sturtevant and his wife Ellen of Plymouth, MA, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is predeceased by her sisters Gayle McDonald and Dorothy Kimmel formerly of Dracut and Lowell, brother Albert William Sturtevant III, and her parents Albert and Gladys. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Due to gathering limitations, Funeral Service and Interment will be held privately.
