Obituary for Nelson B. Temple

Nelson B.  Temple
Nelson B. Temple, 79, a longtime resident of Ayer, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Marsha L. (Fuller) Temple who survives him and with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.

He was born in Lowell on November 16, 1938 and was a son of the late James A. and Viola E. (Bradley) Temple. He was predeceased by his son, Peter Temple, his brother, Allen Temple, his half-brothers James Temple Jr, Clifton Temple, Gilbert Tuttle, Bradley Tuttle, and his father-in-law, Kenneth Fuller.

Prior to his retirement, Nelson worked for Raytheon for over 39 years, with the majority of his career spent in the AEGIS program office as a comptroller.

Nelson enjoyed spending his summers with Marsha at their cottage in York Beach, Maine. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, scuba diving, skiing, bike riding, taking walks on the rail trail and traveling with his wife.

He was a lifetime member of the Ayer Gun and Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the Union Congregational Church, York Beach, Maine.

He attended and graduated from Lowell Technical College and then continued his education at night at ULowell.

In addition to his loving wife Marsha, he is survived by his sister, Caroline (Temple) McCabe-Clark of Brunswick, North Carolina, his nieces; Cathy Kucinski, Donna Forcier, Susan Scali, Sharon Broughton, Lisa Cutrumbes, Kim Farrington, Lori Wagner, Amy Tucker and Sara Fuller. His nephews; Lee Broughton III, Dennis Pedersen, Clifton Temple Jr, and Stephen Temple. His mother-in-law, Myrtle Fuller; his brother-in-law’s, Richard Clark, Bruce Fuller, Curtis O’Keefe and sister-in-law, Brenda Wyman. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

It being his wish, visiting hours have been omitted.

A graveside service will be held at Edson Cemetery, 1375 Gorham St., Lowell, on Saturday, October 13th at 11 o'clock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
