Obituary for Mary Adele Sorbi (Mascolo)

Mary A. (Mascolo) Sorbi, 86, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She married the love of her life, Alfred L. Sorbi with whom she shared 33 years of marriage, until his passing in 1987.

Mary was born in Waterbury, CT on October 11, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Martha (Perrier) Mascolo. Mary was married in Waterbury, CT in 1955, and with her family moved to Chelmsford, MA in 1976.

Mary's greatest joy was her family, to whom she was compassionate, generous, and the absolute problem solver. Her family's fondest memories are her hosted holiday gatherings every year, with Italian food and endless conversation. Never one to preach, she led by example. Her principles and morals influenced those around her, setting an expectation of decency and strong character for the rest of her family to follow. Mary always put the family first, sacrificing time and energy while never seeking credit or thanks. Even in the most challenging times, she never courted sympathy or brought attention to herself. Always incredibly patient, Mary's nurturing spirit and selfless nature are her lasting legacy.

Mary was a wonderful wife, mother to all, best friend, and good listener. She will be deeply missed by all.

Mary leaves her children, Kim (Sorbi) Selsor, Steve Sorbi, Robert Sorbi and wife Pamela, Sandra (Sorbi) Schneider and husband Michael, and John Sorbi and wife Maristela; grandchildren, Brandie Selsor, Kristen Couto, Michael and Matthew Schneider, and Robert, Krystle, and John Sorbi; great grandchildren, Devin Donovan, Michael, Jonathan, Aleana, and Ryan Schneider, Liam and Vivienne Couto, Robert and Jared Sorbi, Ashli McInnis, and Isabella, Brooke, and Jackson Sorbi; her loving brother, Joseph Mascolo and his wife Sonya of Terryville, CT; sisters-in-law, Mary Mascolo of Waterbury, CT and Kathy Mascolo of Florida; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by brothers Domenic Mascolo and Louis Mascolo.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
