Obituary for Marie Anne Conrad (Osevala)

Marie Anne Conrad (formerly Osevala) 91, of Shamokin PA, passed peacefully on 26 March 2020.

Marie grew up as a coal miners daughter. After high school Marie started her career as a seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Company. She then enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. During this timeframe, she met and married her husband, Wilford Lee Conrad (deceased) who was a career Navy veteran. Marie had a son (Kenneth) and followed her husband through various military assignments before retiring from the Navy Exchange at Port Hueneme Naval Construction (Seabees) in California and they both moved back Pennsylvania and settled in Harrisburg. She loved to travel to national parks and museums and was an avid book reader and enjoyed watching classic western and history movies. Marie especially loved spending time with her granddaughter Shannon and they were inseparable when they were together.

Marie was born on August 1st, 1928 in Shamokin PA to the late Bernard and Rosalia (Butts) Osevala. She had 2 brothers (Leonard and Barney – deceased) and is survived by her son Kenneth, his wife Teresa and their daughter Shannon Walsh and son-in-law James.

Services and interment will be held privately.
