Obituary for Marcia Grace Carpenter (Cassidy)

Marcia Grace (Cassidy) Carpenter, age 58, a longtime resident of Nashua, passed away at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua on Monday, October 31, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Brian Carpenter with whom she enjoyed 40 years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on February 7, 1964 she is the daughter of Norma (Campbell) Cassidy and the late John Cassidy.

Marcia is a 1982 graduate of Westford Academy. A life long lover of education and all the wonders that came with knowledge, she subsequently went on to receive her Associates, Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration with high honors after having raised three grown children and working for over 23 years at MIT Lincoln Laboratories. Curious about the world around her, Marcia would stop at every sign and placard she encountered, inquisitive about what she was observing and the history with which it held.

Marcia’s presence could be felt by all that shared her company; warm, gentle, compassionate and ever understanding. She was a shoulder to lean on, a port in a tumultuous storm and a hurricane of loyalty and determination when times call her to be.

Marcia was able to find the little miracles in everyday life; from the effervescent fragrance of her favorite flower, the purple lilac, to the laugher she shared with her grandchildren as they played together, to the crisp touch of a meandering river as she floated down its winding path at her favorite summer getaway. Marcia’s light will live on in these everyday miracles as her beloved friends and family experience them, remembering how she once cherished each nuance and share the same joy she once did, for this is the true sign of a life well lived.

In addition to her loving husband, Marcia is survived by her son Brian and his wife Crystal Carpenter, her daughter Ashley Carpenter, her son John Carpenter, her four grandchildren - Adriana, Briana, Cayden and Madelyn, her brothers John and Donald Cassidy, her sister Erin Brunelle and is preceded by her sister Denise O’Leary.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 4th from 4pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Funeral service and Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
