Lucille (Lemire) James, age 96, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Willow Manor Nursing Home, Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. James with whom she shared 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.
Lucille was born and raised in Lowell, the daughter of the late Rodolph and Emilia (Hamel) Lemire. She was a graduate of Forsythe School of Dental Hygiene in Boston, MA. Lucille worked professionally for dentists in the Lowell and Chelmsford area for many years, at the same time raising 3 children with her husband.
She is survived by her sons; Alan W. James and his wife Joanne (Allaire) of Bristol, CT., and Bryan M. James of Chelmsford, her daughter, Karyn J. Comeau of Chelmsford. She was grandmother (Memere) to Adam and Sara Comeau, Kelsey James, Devyn and Tyler James and great-grandmother to Hope, Alanna and Erik. Lucille also leaves behind her sister Pauline (Lemire) Lessard and her husband Emile (Sonny) of Tyngsboro and her brother Roger Lemire of NH.
