Obituary for Louise L. Doherty (Sobrero)
Louise L. (Sobrero) Doherty, 97, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Westford House on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James C. Doherty who passed away in 2001.
Louise was born in Genoa, Italy on June 27, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Constantino and Rose (Leverone) Sobrero.
She attended school in Cambridge, MA and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin. Louise was employed for many years in commercial sales at Sears. After her retirement, she volunteered her time at the Chelmsford Library, Meadow Lodge at Drum Hill and Chelmsford crossing. Louise loved knitting, crocheting, reading, and cooking, but most especially she enjoyed the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children; Patricia Smith of New Ipswich, NH, Peter Rolashevich and his wife Karen of Holden and Nancy Vigeant and her husband Paul of Chelmsford, her grandchildren; Tina and her husband Ron Groulx, Diana, Peter, Matthew and Daniel, her great grandchildren; Joshua and Alice, her sister, Joan Paglieroni, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Bronius Rolashevich and her son in law, John Smith.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 9:00 – 11:00 am in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Chelmsford Friends of the Library, 25 Boston Rd.
