Obituary for Lorraine F. Kerrigan (Lord)

Lorraine F. (Lord) Kerrigan, 87 of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts passed away on May 3rd. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 27, 1933 to the late Catherine (Walsh) Lord and Raymond J. Lord Sr., former Mayor of Lowell, State Representative, and Lowell City Councilor. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Raymond J. Lord Jr.

Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late James J. Kerrigan Sr. for 64 years. She is survived by her four children: her daughter Katherine Judge and her husband John Judge of Sandwich, MA and her three sons James Kerrigan Jr. and his wife Kathleen Kerrigan of Plymouth, MA; Kenneth Kerrigan Sr. and his wife Elizabeth Kerrigan of Fairfax, Virginia; and Mark Kerrigan of Hyannis, MA.

She will be fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Kerri Judge and her wife Katrina Judge; Brian Judge and his wife Jennifer Judge; Kara Crean and her husband Joseph Crean; Katelyn Salome and her husband Keith Salome; James Kerrigan; Kenneth Kerrigan Jr.; Sean Kerrigan; Kyle Kerrigan; Kalleigh Kerrigan; and her six great-grandchildren: Samuel Judge, Beau Judge, Wyatt Judge, Owen Crean, Colin Crean and Kennedy Salome.

She was raised in Lowell, MA where she attended Notre Dame de Lourdes school and graduated from Keith Hall, class of 1951. She was employed by the Lowell Electric Light Corporation. She and her husband raised their family in Chelmsford MA and upon retirement moved to Cape Cod and later to Venice, Florida. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also particularly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling, shopping, going to the movies, reading, dining out, going to the beach, and playing bingo. She also took great pride in her French Canadian and Irish heritage.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.
