Obituary for Leo J. Daneau

Leo J. Daneau, age 98, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at his home on Monday, February 21, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice C. (Owens) Daneau with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage.

He was born in Manchester, NH on February 9, 1924 and was the son of the late Arsene and Alma (Menard) Daneau.
Leo was raised and attended school in Lowell. After high school, Leo enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Leo retired as a first-class tool maker from Raytheon after more then 30 years of employment. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford. Leo was an active member of the Chelmsford Elks Lodge #2310. He loved dancing and traveling with his wife Alice. Leo treasured time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Leo is survived by his children; Ron Daneau of Chelmsford and Sheila Lambert of San Antonio, TX, his 6 grandchildren and his 7 great grandchildren. Sadly, Leo was predeceased by his son Stephen Daneau.

His Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 11am at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford.
