Kay F. McGillivray, 83, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Blair House, Tewksbury, surrounded by her loving family. Kay was the loving wife of Donald McGillivray with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Kay was born on February 15, 1938 in Lowell, MA and was the daughter of the late James and Katherine (Clark) Simpson. She was raised in Chelmsford and was a graduate of Chelmsford High school with the class of 1956. Kay cherished being a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Carlisle Congregational Church where she served on several committees and belonged to the Women’s group. Kay enjoyed traveling, antiquing and spending time outdoors. Kay proudly participated with her family in the annual Seven Sisters and Mom craft and collectables fair held yearly in Dunstable, MA. Her greatest joy was spending time on the beach at her home in Ocean Park, Maine with her extended family.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Kathy Falardeau and her husband, Jack of Chelmsford, her sons; Todd McGillivray and his wife Aisling Keating of Groton and Scott McGillivray and his wife Andrea of Groton. Her nieces whom she helped raise, Brigit Shea and her husband David of Chelmsford and Corinna Mires and her husband David of California. Her grandchildren; Christopher Falardeau, Jessica and her husband Michael Brothers, Laura Falardeau, Ciara McGillivray, Shay McGillivray, Finn McGillivray, Summer McGillivray, Sydney McGillivray and Haley McGillivray. Her great grandchildren; Jaxson, Christian and Beckett Brothers, her sisters; Dorothea Marinel, Jaqueline Goodie, Joan Miller, Carole Simpson and Georgia Maher, her brother Allan Simpson and many nieces and nephews. Kay was pre-deceased by her siblings; James Simpson, Merle Page and Donald Simpson.

Funeral services and Interment will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made in her memory to Carlisle Congregational Church 147 School Street, Carlisle, MA 01741 or P.O. Box 191 Carlisle, MA 01741. Mama Kay K, it was a pleasure to know you and care for you. I miss your kicks, stories, and intent blue eyes. You made coming to work worthwhile. I can still hear you saying “well tell him I love him too” when I relayed your husband’s love messages to you. I will always remember and love you. Rest In Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ till we meet again.
