Obituary for Judith Delaney (Hilinski)

Judith (Hilinski) Delaney, age 79, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Westford House, Westford, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 18, 1941 in Manchester, CT, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (McNeill) Hilinski.

Judith was raised in Manchester, CT, and was a graduate of Manchester High School with the class of 1959. She then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University. She was a teacher in Portsmouth, NH, before settling in Chelmsford for the next 50 years. Judith then worked as a Claims Adjustor for Sentry Insurance for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Golden Chain Garden Club and was an avid gardener and floral arranger. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting in classes at Aunt Margaret’s in Chelmsford and cheering on all the Boston Sports teams. Most of all, Judith cherished the time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.

Judith leaves her son Jeffrey D. Delaney and his wife Tracy of Pepperell, her granddaughters Kayla Delaney and her fiancé Cameron Phillips, and Abbey Delaney, and her brother Walter Hilinski and his wife Barbara of Trumbull, CT. She is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
