Obituary for Joseph A Myers
Mr. Joseph A. Myers, beloved father, brother, and friend, died peacefully Monday, January 7 in Chelmsford, MA at the age of 71.
He is survived by his son Benjamin Myers and his wife Jennifer van Buren of Tyngsborough, MA, son Joshua Myers of Framingham, MA, and daughter Corinne Myers of Drexel Hill, PA, his 3 grandchildren Henry, Aurora, and Gideon Myers, and his sister Marie Myers Napoli of Athens, GA, all of whom will sorely miss him.
Joe is predeceased in death by his parents John and Marian, brothers Fred and Dennis, and his eldest son Jeremy.
Joe was born May 5, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to John and Marian (Hanson) Myers. He grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Moon High School in 1965.
Joe enjoyed a long and rewarding career in ophthalmic photography. He owned his own company, The Visual Business, providing ophthalmic photography in central and eastern Massachusetts. His passions, which he shared with his children, included folk music, camping and canoeing, photography, family vacations to the ocean, rockets and space, and studying the genealogy of the Myers family. He always had a lollipop for his grandchildren and loved being a grandpa.
At Joe’s request, no services will be held.
