Obituary for John C. Pelley

John C. Pelley, 78, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 28, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann “Annie” (Leahey) Pelley.

He was born in Lowell, MA on January 5, 1943 and was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Noyes) Pelley.

John was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1960. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he was employed as a production manager at Raytheon for 38 years. John was an avid New England sports fan with a special devotion to the Red Sox. He was a member of the Chelmsford cribbage league. John enjoyed traveling with Annie, the annual trips they shared to Sanibel Island and Red Sox spring training. He loved entertaining friends and family at the pool, but he most especially treasured the time spent with his daughter and granddaughters.

John is survived by his daughter, Nina Byam and her husband Erik of Townsend, he was proud Papou to Alexis and Isabelle Byam, his sister, Joanne Sullivan and her husband John (Sully) of Lowell, his former wife, Cindy Pelley of Chelmsford, his special cousin, Steven Chateauneuf with whom he had weekly business meetings, his dog, Rory, who was his best friend. John is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are kindly invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham Street, Lowell. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
