Obituary for John D. LeBlanc Jr.

NORTH CHELMSFORD – John D. LeBlanc, Jr., 86, a longtime resident of North Chelmsford, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ursula (Brake) LeBlanc with whom he enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

He was born in Waltham, MA on August 13, 1934 and was raised in Margaree, Nova Scotia, Canada. John was the son of the late John and Victoria (Aucoin) LeBlanc. He attended schools in Canada. Upon returning to the U.S after graduation, John was employed for several years at Raytheon in Waltham. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country while stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. John was a Regulatory Engineer for the Sanborn Company in Waltham, which later became Hewlett Packard in Andover for almost 40 years. He was a member of the North Chelmsford American Legion post #313 and the Tyngsboro Sportsman Club. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and time spent with his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Ursula, John is survived by his children; Daniel LeBlanc of Chelmsford, David LeBlanc of Chelmsford and Lisa Hopkins and her husband Gregg of Coventry, CT, his grandchildren; Emily Robinson, Chelsea Robinson and Sara Robinson, his step grandchildren; Erica Hopkins and Paige Hopkins, his siblings; Robert LeBlanc, of FL, Edna Brin of Nova Scotia, Pauline Berry of Nova Scotia, and Laura Dixon of MA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was sadly predeceased by his brother Norman LeBlanc.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at jimmyfund.org.
