Obituary for John C. Conner

John C. Conner, age 82, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on January 25, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen J. (Dykeman) Conner with whom he enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

He was born in Salamanca, NY on January 3, 1940 and was the second son of the late Merle J. and Helen E. (Medland) Conner.

John enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. John served with the 1254th Transport Wing (Air Force One) and later in Vietnam and was stationed in a variety of locations around the world including Goose Bay Labrador, Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire and Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. During his time in the Air Force, he met and married his beloved wife, Kathleen. After leaving the military, he worked at different companies before returning to work for the Air Force as a Civil Servant for over 20 years.

John was an avid sports fan and loved Red Sox, Lowell Spinners and UML Hockey River Hawks.
John is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; Jerome and Kara Conner of Chelmsford, MA; Joel and Deborah Conner of Haverhill, MA. His three grandchildren; Jeffrey, Matthew, and Gwendolynn Conner. His brother, Joseph Conner of Houston, TX his brother-in-law Loren Dykeman and his wife Doris of Ankeny, IA and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late James Conner of Olean NY.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 12 pm to 3 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd., Chelmsford. Kindly meet at church. Masks are required. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, aldersgatemc.us or to the Nashoba Valley Technical High School Scholarship (NVTHS Scholarship).
