Obituary for Jeremiah Douglas Edwards

Jeremiah D. “JD” Edwards, 23, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Lowell, MA.

He was born in Boston on March 1, 1997 and is the son of Charity Edwards and Steven Thomas. JD was a graduate of Chelmsford High School Class of 2016.

JD was an amazing human, with a bright future ahead of him. A close friend described JD as “a bit controversial, but a misunderstood genius”. He had a massive love of and loyalty to his family and friends, there was nothing more important to him. His best friend in life was his GrandDad (aka Gug), who shared so much of his life, and many of the same interests and stories. JD was an old soul, he loved Elvis, 1950’s Fords and Marilyn Munroe. He was a dedicated Student of MMA, and loved watching fights on Sat night with his family. JD was an avid reader, and would be quick to talk about the books he has read (many) over his lifetime. He was adored by his family, and friends, and will be missed deeply. I think he would ask that we jfs.

In addition to his loving parents, JD leaves behind his siblings; Raianna and Carli Edwards-Thomas of Chelmsford, Deanna and Domenic Karis of Billerica, his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Helen Edwards of Westford, paternal grandmother Marcia Winters of Billerica, aunts; Adrienne Edwards and Christian Demling of West Bridgewater, Maureen Turcotte and Ed Credit of Dracut, Patricia and Bernie Boyle of Tewksbury, uncles; Geoff Defilippo of Lowell, Michael and Judy Bright of Texas. He is also survived by extended family; Ron Allard, Ryan Allard, Ron Allard, The Healy Clan, many cousins and Mario Defillippo.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home. Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
