Obituary for Jean M. Frazier (Marciano)

Jean M. (Marciano) Frazier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord at the age of 91 on Monday, July 26, 2021. Formerly of Bedford, Massachusetts, she was a resident of the Stonebridge at Burlington Assisted Living Community in Burlington, Massachusetts, where she was cared for in the last years of her life.

Jean was born on February 21, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts, and was the loving daughter of the late Alfred and Teresa (Santoianni) Marciano of Lexington, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her older sister Alma Ballota and twin sister Joan Micka, both of whom she loved dearly. She had an especially close bond with her identical twin, a relationship that sparked mischief when they were young, and later peals of laughter when recounting their tales to her family.

Jean graduated from high school in Providence, Rhode Island, enjoyed spending her weekends on the ballroom floor, and later worked at Raytheon, where she processed employees’ security clearances. It was there that she met and fell in love with her late husband, Robert W. Frazier, an electrical engineer and kindhearted southern man. Jean and Bob married on November 30, 1957 and settled in Bedford, where they raised a family and cultivated a loving home.

A lifelong reader, Jean loved getting lost in a good story and passed this trait down through the generations. She was a valuable member of the Mount Hope Christian Center church, where she taught Bible study, sang in the choir, and grew deep friendships. Though small in stature, Jean was boisterous in spirit; a connector of people who welcomed everyone with a hug and warm smile. Throughout her long life she enjoyed music, travel, ceramics, hosting holiday gatherings, and walking with friends. She will always be remembered for her devoted faith, caring heart, and love of simple pleasures in life: a cold iced coffee, a meal with family, the beauty of butterflies.

Jean was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, Bob, who passed away in May of 2020. She missed him every day.

Jean is survived by and will be deeply missed by her children, Joni Bursey, Richard Frazier and his wife Donna Frazier, and Scott Frazier; her grandchildren, Christine Webb and her husband Jacob Webb, Dale Horsman and her husband Dave Horsman, Brett Frazier, and Erica Doherty and her husband Ian Doherty; and her great-granddaughter, Harlow Horsman. She is also survived by her longtime best friend, Camille Interbartolo, with whom she maintained a special bond for decades.

Family and friends who are able to attend will gather for visitation at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, Massachusetts on Sunday, August 1st from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home on Monday, August 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Lexington, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent in Jean and Bob’s memory to Heifer International: www.heifer.org.
