JAMES ARNOLD BOWMAN

Life Summary in Brief
James Arnold Bowman, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grand-uncle, and great grand-uncle, passed unexpectedly on January 05, 2022. He was born in Illinois to Charles Bowman and Pearl Davies Bowman, one of ten children. Following High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, and served from 1945 – 1951 in the Atlantic Theater. James served aboard two destroyer class ships, the U.S.S. Winslow and the U.S.S. Bailey. During this time, he had an extraordinary experience in meeting Pope John XXIII.
After the Navy, he married Elena D. Boulos Bowman. He was the beloved husband of Elena (Boulos) Bowman with whom he enjoyed 72 years of marriage.
Together they have four children and one grandchild. Graduated from Northeastern University, James worked at the Raytheon Company for extensive years in the Missile Systems Division and for the Apollo Program. He is an avid reader and the author of the book “The Continuum.” James likes to work in the yard, loves the sea, enjoys nature, our many dogs and cats, and wildlife.
James is survived by his wife, Elena D. Bowman, 2 daughters, Christine and Karen, 2 sons, Mark and David, grandchild, Erin, brother William, sisters-in-law Janet and Frances, and many nieces and nephews throughout the Nation. He is deeply missed and loved.
