Obituary for Harriet Theresa Lockhart
Harriet T. Lockhart, age 90, a longtime Stamford, CT resident of Hyannis, passed away at Brookdale Cape Cod Assisted Living on Monday, April 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New York, New York on February 14, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Mae (Buckley) Lockhart.
Harriet was a trailblazer. Fluent in shorthand, she became a legal secretary for Xerox Corporation for over 40 years. She enjoyed City life, Broadway shows, travel and reading. She loved dogs more than cats. In her final years she was overjoyed to spend time reading to the Kindergarten Children at Centerville Elementary in Centerville, MA. Pink and green were her favorite colors, along with her red lipstick and lovely hair. Harriet was a polished woman, smart and silly at times.
Harriet is survived by sister-in-law, Virginia Lockhart, nieces, Jan Oppenheimer, Lynn Taylor, Carol Cullen, Joyce O’Connor, Debbie Reed, and their spouses, along with nephews, Peter, Eugene, Christopher, Donald, and Walter Lockhart, and many great nieces and nephews.
Sister to the late Eugene, Walter, and Robert Lockhart and aunt to the late Sheila Lockhart and Barbara Breslin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13th at 11am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., CHELMSFORD. KINDLY GATHER AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Harriet’s great nephew Christopher Reslow to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org.
