PELHAM, NH - Georgios L. Skangos, a longtime resident of Pelham, NH, passed away peacefully at D'Youville Transitional Care in Lowell on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Constantina (Speridakos) Skangos.
He was born in the village of Agios Ioannis in Monemvasia, Greece on January 3, 1944 and was a son of the late Lazaros and Georgia (Pitzinakas) Skangos.
Georgios was a member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut. He was proud to have owned numerous restaurants over the years, which provided an outlet for his love of cooking. He also enjoyed spending time fishing.
Georgios was very devoted to his family. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children; Lazaros Skangos of Pelham and Georgia Skangos and her husband Stephen Fredericks of Chelmsford, and his cherished grandchildren; George, Constantina and Zoe. He also leaves his siblings; Demetrios Skangos and his wife Katina of Australia and Matina Kapeleris and her husband Demetrios of Agios Ioannis, Greece and his brother in-laws; Peter Speridakos and his wife Dina of Lynn, George Speridakos and his wife Irene of Lynn, and John Speridakos and his wife Giota of Athens, Greece, his sister-in-law, Eleni Skangos and his many cherished nieces and nephews. Sadly, he was predeceased by his brother Ioannis Skangos and his sister Chrysoula Gkoulis and her husband Elias.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Mammoth Road, Dracut.
His Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 am.
Interment will follow in Westlawn II Cemetery in Lowell.
