Obituary for George A. Ripsom Jr.

George A.  Ripsom Jr.
George A. "Gary" Ripsom, Jr., a resident of Tooele, UT and formerly of Chelmsford, passed away at his parent’s home, January 13, 2018, two weeks after his 54th birthday. He succumbed after a lengthy battle with a virulent bacterial infection.

He was the dear son of George Sr. and Elizabeth (Postupack) Ripsom, brother of Margaret Bleau and husband Arthur of Plymouth; Lissa Ann Ripsom of Ruther Glen, VA; and Cheryl Massey and husband David of Tooele, UT. He was beloved uncle of Jason Dublin, Taylor Harris, and Hunter Ripsom-Gardiner.

He graduated from Chelmsford High School, class of 1981, where he developed his life-long interest in music, most recently playing bass in the band, “Shades of Blue”. First employed with Raytheon Company in Lowell, he later worked in the pizza business in Washington, DC, Kentucky, and in Lowell with Fio’s, Suppa’s, and Domino’s. Currently he was sales consultant for Tooele Performance Automall.

A dedicated Jehovah’s Witness, he was very proud of his participation in building the new Kingdom Hall in Tooele, UT.

Visiting hours for George will be held Monday, January 22, from 4 to 7 PM at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 o'clock in the FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In his memory, contributions may be made to Jehovah’s Witness, Kingdom Hall, 220 North Rd, Chelmsford, MA 01824 or to the Chelmsford Garrison House, P.O. Box 161, Chelmsford, MA 01824. to continue the work that he started there as an Eagle Scout.
