Frank Perlak Jr., 73, a longtime Tyngsboro resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Cox) Perlak with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on July 31st.
Frank was born on December 6, 1946 in Winsted, CT and was a son of the late Frank and Marjorie C. (MacGill) Perlak.
Frank was a class of 1964 graduate of Gilbert High School in Winsted, CT. He retired on July 1, 2017 after 53 years as a machinist to do what he loved most….fish. He was an “old school” machinist who mentored the newbies and could create prototypes to exact specifications. He was the go-to-guy no matter what shop he worked in, from Pratt & Whitney to Axis Technologies.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed fishing, football, baseball and gardening. Most of all Frank cherished the time he spent with his family. His grandsons were the light of his life. “Papa” was a mentor and supported everything the boys did. He never missed a practice or game and he was their biggest (and loudest) cheerleader. If something broke, “Papa can fix it.”
In addition to his loving wife, Frank leaves behind his daughter Laura Wyld and son-in-law Peter Wyld of Pepperell. His grandsons Logan Wyld and his long time girlfirend Macey Lorden, Hayden Wyld and Mason Wyld of Pepperell. His sister Harriet (Missy) Mastrogiovanni and her husband Robert of Torrington, CT. His nieces and nephew Brenda, Danny & Kellie, and his great-nephew and great-niece Marcus & Carly.
He was predeceased by his siblings Harry Perlak and Jeanne Perlak, both from CT.
Memorial visitation and service will be held at a future date. Interment will be held privately.
