Obituary for Frank H Meehan Jr.

WESTFORD - Frank H. Meehan, Jr., a resident of Westford since 1978, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was the beloved husband of 52 years of Roberta "Bobbie" (Rundlett) Meehan.

He was born in Cambridge on November 19, 1942 and was a son of the late Frank H. Meehan, Sr. and Doris (Tutein) Meehan.

Frank was raised in Belmont, graduated from Belmont High School, and received both his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from the University of New Hampshire. He was a Science teacher at Clarke Middle School in Lexington for 36 years, retiring in 2005. During those years, he coached basketball, baseball and soccer and planned countless field trips, dances, and many other activities related to school and community. Frank had a natural ability to connect with people. He used that gift to reach each of his students over the years which made him outstanding in his field and earned him an Exemplary Teacher Award in 1987. Frank was beloved by faculty and students alike and was honored to have an outdoor classroom and trail dedicated to him upon his retirement.

Frank was an avid gardner and golfer and was a member of the Chelmsford Country Club. The Science teacher in him enjoyed botany, marine biology and anything having to do with nature. Frank had a zest for life that continued well into retirement. He volunteered with City Sprouts in Cambridge and at the Discovery Museum in Acton where he continued to inspire learning in children.

In addition to his loving wife, Frank leaves his devoted children; Kristin Meehan of Townsend, Jeff Meehan of Shrewsbury and Toby Meehan and her husband Reggie Hickmon of Hudson, NH.
