Obituary for Francis J. McNanley
WESTFORD – Francis J. McNanley, 89, a longtime resident of Westford, passed away peacefully at Westford House on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Hilda (Angell) with whom he enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage.
He was born in Providence, RI on May 29, 1931 and was the son of the late Honore and Viola (McDermott) LaRoche.
Francis was a graduate of Gorton High School. A Korean War Veteran, he served in the US Navy. He worked at McKesson as a Regional Manager until his retirement. He enjoyed many happy years with friends and family boating, fishing and traveling with his wife to favorite islands and countries. A sports lover, he was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins.
In addition to his loving wife, Francis is survived by his daughters Susan Small and her husband John of Westford and Karen Petersen and her husband Richard of Elizabeth City, NC. He was the cherished grandfather of Richard Petersen, PhD, Andrew Petersen, USCG and Jeffrey Small of Westford.
Funeral service and interment will be held privately.
