Obituary for Francis H. Kirkpatrick Jr.
CHELMSFORD – Francis H. Kirkpatrick, Jr., age 77, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Blaire House of Tewksbury surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cornelia (Goodreds) Kirkpatrick with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
He was born on November 7, 1943 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and was a son of the late Francis H. Sr., and Jean (Murray) Kirkpatrick.
Francis was raised in the Boston area and Western Pennsylvania. He graduated from Pine Richland High School in Gibsonia, PA. Francis completed his higher education at Harvard and Stanford. As a biophysicist, he worked in both academia and industry. After he moved to Chelmsford he started his own business KIRKPATENT CONSULTING an intellectual property management company. He was a gardener and enjoyed sailing. Francis was a member of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Chelmsford.
In addition to his loving wife, Francis leaves his son Adam Kirkpatrick, daughter-in-law Kathleen Simone, granddaughters Alessia and Olivia of Malden MA. He is survived by his siblings Alexander Kirkpatrick of Brentwood CA, Gordon Kirkpatrick of Valencia CA, and Susanna Kirkpatrick Conti of Costa Mesa CA
A Memorial Service will be announced at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in his name to First Parish Church Building Fund.
