Obituary for Evelyn F. Wizst (Kiefer)
SALEM, NH - Evelyn F. (Kiefer) Wizst, recently of Salem, NH, and previously a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 29, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Ursula (Hogan) Sackett and stepfather Col. William H. Sackett.
Evie was raised in the Philadelphia area and later made her home in Chelmsford. She had the opportunity to work in a number of industries; from retail (and some modelling) to administrative roles at Raytheon, Wang Labs, Met Life, and managing the Kelly Services office in Chelmsford.
She was a talented floral designer and painter who was active in the Jaycee-ettes and Chelmsford Garden Club. While she enjoyed entertaining and gardening, her biggest joy was spending time with family, especially being ‘nana’ to her three grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her sons; Darrin Wizst and his wife, Jennifer of Westford, Brian Wizst of Haverhill and Kevin Wizst and his wife Kristen Forrester of Santa Clara, CA. Three grandchildren; Kyle Wizst, Sarah Wizst and Allison Wizst, her sister; Patricia McCarty and her husband Larry of Alabama and her niece and nephew; Shannon Russell and Jeremy Pearson.
She was predeceased by her father Edward Kiefer. Evelyn also leaves many close and loyal friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home 24 Worthen St. Chelmsford. A prayer service will follow at 3 pm.
Her graveside service will be held on Monday morning at 9 o'clock at Pine Ridge Cemetery.
