Obituary for Eileen Gray Hingorani (Gray)

Eileen Gray Hingorani, a resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2018. She was 83 years old.

Eileen was born in December 1934, daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Layne) Gray. She was raised in Mt. Rainier, Maryland with 11 siblings. She spent her career as a key-punch operator/supervisor, culminating in epidemiology work with researchers at the Harvard Medical School. Eileen was a dedicated and strong matriarch of her family, devoting herself to the care and raising of her children and grandchildren, always with an open door and welcoming home. Her generous spirit was evident when, in 1986, she proudly became a kidney donor to her brother Ed. Eileen had a keen interest in politics and history and thoroughly enjoyed painting, dancing and traveling. She was beautiful inside and out, and her kindness and warmth impacted everyone whom she met.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her children: Sheila Hingorani and her husband Michael Royston, Neila Hingorani and her wife Leslie Hand, and David Mednicoff and his wife Joya Misra, and her grandchildren, Samuel and Spencer Royston and Amina and Rabi Mednicoff. She also leaves her brother James Gray of Tampa, FL and a large extended family with many nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her former husband Gope D. Hingorani.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Parish Unitarian Church at 75 Great Road, BEDFORD. Interment will follow in Heart Pond Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
