Obituary for Efrain Diaz

Pastor Efrain Diaz Senior was born February 12, 1955 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He had humble beginnings working on the farm of his grandfather where he learned that the only way one can progress in life is through hard work. Upon moving to the United States, he moved to Woburn, Massachusetts where he’d meet the love of his life and eventual wife, Evelyn Figueroa. Pastor Diaz went on and joined the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country and community for 12 years.

Throughout his many years as a loving husband, father, father in-law, grandfather, son, brother, pastor and friend - he would constantly remind us all that his true birthday was and will always be October 9, 1986, when he surrendered his life to the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. From that day on, he would dedicate his life to the service of the church and leading people to Christ. Throughout his journey with Christ and by direction of the Lord, he, along with his wife Evelyn and children Efrain Jr., Eric and Anexis would humbly open Iglesia Bethesda in Lowell, Massachusetts. Bethesda would later become his pride and joy, where thousands of people would be touched and impacted by his countless words of wisdom.

We are proud of what our husband, father and pastor taught us; to lead by example and not by words, to love your neighbor as Christ loved the church and to always walk in faith.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

In addition to his loving wife, Efrain leaves behind his devoted children; Efrain Diaz, Jr. and his wife Yazmira, Eric Diaz and his wife Dalisa, Anexis Sanchez and her husband Jesus, and his cherished grandchildren; Bronson Jesus Sanchez, Brandon Jesus Sanchez, Layla Anexis Sanchez, Scarlett Bella Diaz, Noah Eliaquim Diaz, Eliana Rose Diaz and Sophia Rose Diaz.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford followed by his Funeral Service to begin at 7 o'clock.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday at 10 am before leaving in procession for his interment at 11 o'clock at Edson Cemetery in LOWELL.
