Obituary for Duncan Carl Sorli
Duncan C. Sorli, a long time resident of Chelmsford and devoted husband of Christle (Hutchings) Sorli, father to Duncan, Christopher, and Brita, and proud Papa to Duncan, Lilia, Hayden, Jeni, Kya, and Bryn, passed unexpectedly on March 23, 2021.
Duncan was raised in Billerica, a graduate of Northeastern University, a Mechanical Engineer at Polaroid Corp. for most of his career, and forever a tinkerer. His greatest joy was his time spent with his family and four legged children; especially, his beloved Jessie and Fancy. Acadia National Park and Baxter State Park held a special place in his heart. Duncan was always there to lend a hand in coaching his children’s sports teams and later watching his grandchildren on the court, field, and stage. His children, grandchildren, other family members and neighbors will miss his gentle and supportive nature, warm smile, love, and unsurpassed kindness.
There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Duncan’s memory can be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970 or northeastanimalshelter.org.
