Dorothea T. "Dot" (Brown) Nutter, longtime Chelmsford resident passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Harley E. Nutter with whom she enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his death in 2003.

Dorothea was born in Lowell to the late Ernest and Alice (Bullard) Brown on June 26, 1924.

She was a proud graduate of St. Patrick's School, Lowell, Class of 1941.

For 25 years, Dorothea worked as a Nurse's Aide for St. Joseph's Hospital, Sunny Acres Nursing Home, and Palm Manor Nursing Home. She especially enjoyed taking care of senior citizens. In her spare time she enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband up until his death. She spent much of her time at the Chelmsford Senior Center playing bingo, socializing with her friends, and participating in the Widow's Group.

Dorothea raised five children; Richard Nutter of Dedham, Harleen Hennessey and her husband Andrew of Chelmsford, Leonard and his wife Heidi of Port Charlotte, FL, Garald Nutter of North Chelmsford, and Brenda and her husband Donald Ross of Brookline, NH. She is the loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dorothea was predeceased by twin brothers, Ernest and Brendan Brown.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford followed by interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
