Obituary for Doris M. Vaillancourt (Lauziere)

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother


Doris M. (Lauziere) Vaillancourt, age 97, a resident of Chelmsford and a communicate of St. Mary’s Church for over 55 years, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Vaillancourt who passed away on April 2, 1988.

She was born in Lowell on September 26, 1925, the second child of nine born to Antonio and Antoinette (Cote) Lauziere.

In her early years she attended Notre Dame De Lourdes Church and attended the parish school. As a young adult and prior to her marriage, she worked in the local shoe manufacturing industry. She was most proud of having been part of a team that assisted in making boots for soldiers who were overseas during WWII.

She is predeceased by her oldest child, Francis J. Vaillancourt Jr. who passed away on March 26, 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda A. and her husband David J. Murphy of Belmont, NH, and Susan M. and her husband Gerald C. Tucke, II of Tyngsboro; her former daughter-in-law, Debra E. Vaillancourt of Costa Mesa, CA; her four precious grandchildren, Jennifer E. Vaillancourt of Newport Beach, CA, Major Gerald C. Tucke, III and his wife Kelsey of Quantico, VA, Michael D. Murphy and his wife Kathleen of Tyngsboro, and Staff Sgt. Ian F. Tucke and his wife Donna of Puyallup, WA; her four great-grandchildren, whom she always said she was so blessed to have, Caroline of Quantico, VA, and Clayton, Deanna, and Michael of Tyngsboro; her siblings, Norman Lauziere of Dunstable and his family who she absolutely adored, Donald Lauziere and his family of Sacramento, CA, and Irene Cook of Chelmsford; her sister-in-law, Ginette Lauziere of Exeter, NH; and numerous nieces and nephews in both the Lauziere and Vaillancourt families, too many to name, but always loved and remembered.

In addition to her husband and son, she is predeceased by her two sisters, Pauline and Annette; her two brothers, Roger and Raymond; and her two sisters-in-law, Joan Lauziere and Frances Lauziere.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 8:30 am – 10 am at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am following the visitation at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
